ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS

I believe that each person has been gifted for the purpose of building up the Kin(g)dom of God here on earth, yet there are many people who do not see themselves as gifted. For whatever reason, they perceive their abilities as insignificant or even worthless. In 1 Peter, we read how we are to be good stewards (managers) of the gracious gifts God has bestowed upon us (4:10). These gifts come alive as we serve one another, but I love how the sharing of gifts can often inspire another person to share a gift. As I see another person serve with grace, it draws out my hidden gifts. Today, in worship, we will focus our attention on Spiritual Gifts, and how God gifts everyone for the purpose of participating in God’s dream for this world.
Your love, O Living Lord, is amazing, and through your rich grace, you have gifted me. May I learn to share my gift with the same grace with which it was given. Amen.
