Prayer for the Week: Magnificent and Amazing God, another day has dawned; another opportunity to serve Jesus has come our way; another grace-filled moment has emerged through which we can get a glimpse of you. There are happenings, incidents and accidents impacting us adversely. There are powers and principalities that jolt us from the path of love and mercy. It is not easy to engage the world without being influenced by what is not of you. We could easily complain, throw up are hands in despair, and give into what might appear hopeless. But today, a new day has greeted us, and we trust your presence is woven into the fabric of this day. You are made real in those whose faithfulness strikes our eyes and our souls with beauty that is overwhelming. Keep us open to those whose voices and witness might not be appreciated in traditional circles. Make us open to the Lydias of this world whose prayer life and hospitality might catch us off guard initially, but in time, we are able to see within them your living presence, O Lord. This very day there will be a Lydia along the path, and we pray for wisdom and discernment so as not to walk on by. We make these requests with humility and with expectation. Amen.
