Save your breath for the wise – they’ll be wiser for it; tell good people what you know – they’ll profit from it.
Thought for the Day: Today is Thanksgiving Sunday, an opportunity to think a bit more earnestly about gratitude. This day, I give thanks for all those who helped to make me a little wiser than I was. From my mother to my many teachers to the people who helped to create and sustain the Disciples of Christ university and seminary I attended. There were so many whose names I do not know, yet they gave so much of themselves for my sake. Today, we take up a special offering for all the Disciples of Christ related Universities and Seminaries. Today, thousands of young people are receiving an excellent education within a Christian setting because of the generosity of Disciples throughout the country. Know that whatever gift you might give, someone out there will be made a bit wiser because of you.
Prayer: I pray, O Lord, that the willingness of so many will produce a great harvest for your kingdom. Amen.
