COMMUNITY EVENT - Blessing of the Animals and Stuffed Animals
10:00am - Noon, Saturday, October 12
The blessing of animals is an old tradition among Christians, inspired by the mystic priest, St. Francis of Assisi, who spoke of how we have a high calling in regard to the animals of this world, even suggesting that we are to serve them. For many people, their furry, feathered, finned, or scaly family members are cared for with a genuine sense of calling and compassion. On Saturday, October 12, Cypress Creek Christian Church will host a Blessing of the Animals and Stuffed Animals as a way of honoring and celebrating all of God’s creatures. Bring your animal or stuffed animal for a special prayer of blessing. This is a free community event from 10:00am – Noon.
There will be many other activities, including a petting zoo, animal encounters, crafts, games, cotton candy, face painting, the Pumpkin Patch, and an opportunity to adopt a stuff animal. Spread the word, and we will see you and your friends on Saturday, October 12.
