Prayer for the Week: In this Season of Lent, this time in the Christian Year when our eyes begin to take focus upon the betrayal and loneliness of a man’s execution, we are drawn to our knees in humility and sorrow. O God whose love was born in a manger and authenticated upon a cross, we employ this time of prayer for the purpose of exploring the depth of your love and its implications for this moment in history. Continue to walk alongside us as we navigate the painful path between where we are and where Jesus will be found in the weeks ahead. It is our calling to announce the Good News of new life, but to make the announcement in the full knowledge of how this gift is always found on the other side of the tomb. Even when we waver in our uncertainty, let us look to Jesus who remained faithful in love. It is in his name that we pray. Amen.
