Prayer for the Week: Holy God, you chose us before we even thought of turning toward you. In your grace, you named us as your beloved; you made space for us at your table; you provided us a clear purpose. In a world where so many powers and principalities seek to define us, call to us through the power of your Spirit. Allow for us to once again glimpse your love made real in the life of Jesus, the one who gave a name to the forgotten, welcomed the outcast to the table and set forth a calling to serve the least among us. You acted through love, and now we seek to live as those who understand the depth and far-reaching character of your love. Our understanding grows, not only through our knowledge of Jesus, but as we seek to replicate his life and love. Continue to inspire us in this work that has no equal. Amen.
