ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHING

Scripture: Psalm 119:15-18
I will think about your precepts and examine all your paths. I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget what you have said.Be good to your servant so I can go on living and keeping your word. Open my eyes so I can examine the wonders of your Instruction!
Thought for the Day: For the last two weeks, my Etchings have wandered through the first chapter of Colossians. Though it was less than 30 verses, my intent was to help reveal the great magnitude of meaning and thoughtfulness found within those words. And the wonderful part was how little I was able to point out in my Etchings each day. There is so much to examine and explore, and often what we find are even more questions about life and faith. So often the scriptures are presented as a bunch of strange and demanding rules, but that is a very misguided understanding of the Bible. The author of the Psalm invites God to create an awareness to the wonders of the divine instruction. There is truly wonders to be discovered, but it requires us to really spend some time exploring. And a few verses each day open a door that often reveals a thousand doors behind that one door.
Prayer: Lord God, continue to encourage my exploration of the amazing words of the faithful who were often asking the same questions I am asking today. Amen.
