ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHING
April 17, 2022
Good morning, Easter! It is good to see you as your Good News is needed. There is so much pain in our world: war and conflict around the globe, communities impacted by storms, migrant workers trapped in systems of physical abuse, economic concerns creating anxiety among the most vulnerable, and the list goes on. Amidst it all, Easter brings a simple message: Don’t give up! In the darkest moments, there is always hope. Of course, those words are often spoken from a place where the darkness is not quite as intense. When we say, “Good morning, Easter!” let us think of it in terms of both a greeting and an invitation. People who are longing for an Easter experience are looking for the resurrected body of Jesus, and in case you’ve forgotten, the church is the body of Christ. And that’s not just a cute nickname. We are the living breathing body of Jesus Christ in the world. Our presence is a declaration of resurrection, so let’s come out of the tomb, into the light and make ourselves known wherever there are those seeking resurrection.
Good morning, God! It is good to greet you on this Easter day. May my Easter celebration be more than a few chocolate eggs as I desire to know and share with others the fullness of the Easter joy. Amen.

And Celebrate!

Thank you for the reminder of our cleansing through Jesus’ death and resurrection. The Holy Spirit is moving mightily in my life of which you are certainly a part.
