Prayer for the Week (this is a portion of the prayer from yesterday’s worship service): When despair and a sense of defeat grip us, let us turn to you anew, Amazing God. Let us turn to you and take a closer look at what you are doing in this world. You do not give up on us, but are in fact finding new and creative ways of moving all of creation forward and toward greater justice and joy, toward more kindness and goodness. Do not let the shroud of despondency consume us, for the world in which we live needs a voice of hope; needs those who recognize the work you continue to do; needs to find a model of faithful living. Through your love, O Living God, we offer ourselves to the task of serving you and your mission of making all things new. We pray in the name of the Christ, your Saving One, O God. Amen.
