ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS

Prayer for the Week: Speak to me and I will listen; reveal yourself and I will be watching; teach me and I promise to have an open heart. O Author of the Love First Life, I seek to be shaped in the likeness of Jesus and the love he gave witness to with his life and death. It does not come easily, for there are so many powers and principalities and politicians who are seeking to form me in the likeness of one who is full of hate, driven by an irrational fear. Cruelty and scapegoating of the powerless do not resemble you, O Kind and Generous God, yet many have wrapped a religious rhetoric around such actions, giving themselves permission to set aside Jesus to placate their insecurities. Speak to me and I will listen; reveal yourself and I will be watching; teach me and I promise to have an open heart. O Author of the Love First Life, I seek to be shaped in likeness of Jesus. Amen.
