Prayer for the Week:
O Merciful One,
we grieve the violence,
we lament the loss of life,
we weep with the families of victims.
Each day another senseless act!
Each day another story-
more fatalities,
more fear,
more questions.
Where do we go from here, God?
What should we do?
What can we do?
We can be made to feel
powerless,
useless,
incapacitated.
Yet by your grace,
something is changing,
hope is growing,
a zeal is taking hold
a zeal
for justice,
for healing,
for restoration,
for transformation.
We are not powerless!
We are not useless!
We are not incapacitated.
By your grace
we perceive this world as
malleable and pliable
to be formed and shaped
by love and forgiveness,
by compassion and kindness.
May it be so,
is our prayer.
May it be so
is our commitment to the work.
Amen.
