Ecclesiological Etchings

ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS
April 19, 2023

We are a little more than a week past Easter, and I sort of wonder if there is anything different in our attitude, outlook, or way of living because of Easter. No matter how you might understand the Good News of Easter, it is pretty clear that something pretty significant happened (that might be a bit of an understatement). For me, it is a message about how even the most hopeless and anguishing moments of life will not have the final word. You might have a slightly different take or way of describing the Easter message, but whatever it is, I have a feeling it is wonderfully awesome. And if that is the case, shouldn’t we be able to point to something in our own lives that reflects how wonderfully awesome it is?

O God of New Life, let the Easter message that refused to remain in a tomb also be the message that cannot be contained within a 24-hour period on one day out of 365. My faith tells me it cannot be limit by the calendar, so help my life tell of its powerful joy this day and always. Amen.
