Ecclesiological Etchings

ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS
June 5, 2025
Guest Writer: Rev. Michelle Beech,
A friend said something to me the other day about how the sky looked and I realized how often I forget to even look up. I spend a lot of time indoors, but even when I’m walking the dogs or hanging out on our deck, the only time I really look up is for a sunrise or a sunset. But we miss so much when we don’t look up.

Toward the sky, we might miss geese flying in formation, chem trails making curious symbols in the sky, or simply the various shapes of clouds. And when we don’t “look up” in life, we might miss how much someone appreciates us or our own appreciation for the bounty given by God. We are wonderfully made, loved fully, and desired to have an abundant life. Look up, friend! You are surrounded by all sorts of life moving along as God intended and you are deeply loved. Both of which make me want to look up more often.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord of Life and Love,
Thank you for your gifts all around us. And when we don’t feel like looking up, remind us that you are all around.
