Prayer for the Week: O Triune God, enfleshed in the one who was both/and, we thank you for the beautiful and amazing diversity found in this world, of which every person is deemed one of your beloved. Provide us with the capacity to see your image in every individual, without exception or condition. Push us beyond simple tolerance when it comes to diversity, and as you nudge us with the Spirit, show us how to love people just as they are and to embrace their uniqueness as you have embraced our uniqueness. You hold the sacred dream within you, yet you’ve allowed us to glimpse it in the life and teachings of Jesus. May all who have ever questioned their place within your loving embrace, encounter within us a strong, unwavering, and tireless affirmation. We make this request in the name of Jesus, the one who welcomed and affirmed so many who had been pushed to the margins and forgotten. Amen.
