Prayer for the Week:
There are places within each of us that go unacknowledged, yet they hold within them unspoken fears and loneliness; unvoiced grief and lostness. In our avoidance grows a lie—an invention rooted in denial, seeking to evade everything that is far from okay. Holy God, Merciful and Guiding Spirit, we can pretend only for a while. The capacity to bury and ignore means nothing when the soul is longing for genuine healing. Pour over us permission to break open our lives before you. Allow for vulnerability in the presence of your immeasurable love to be the beginning of what might be a long, yet necessary journey. Though we may feel afraid, we trust in you to show us the next step and then to nudge us through your grace. Amen.
