ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS

When I think of how I have found living waters at Cypress Creek the first image that comes to my mind is how the church has created a space that is welcoming and affirming. A space that welcomed me and my sister to sit in worship being fully who we are theologically and as people. At that moment this church became my home.
During my time at Cypress Creek I have found living waters through relationships that have been sincere and caring. I have found nourishment through people that reach out to me and got to know me. I have found nourishment at this faith community through relationships where I have been able to show up without masks and have been free to be honest with what I need and what I am feeling without finding judgement or without the other person jumping to fix it but rather letting me know that they love me and it is okay to express myself.
I have found living water in the way my ordination care committee and others walked alongside me and went above and beyond to support me and affirm my call and leadership. My ordination day was one of the happiest days of my life. I love the hugs, the laughter, holy grounds and the privilege to be trusted and be able to trust; to be able to share life with both the challenges and joys outside of Sunday mornings.
