“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.”

Each week here at Cypress Creek Christian Church, I have the opportunity to see first-hand how our wonderful members and visitors are being called to be the hands and feet of Christ.  You are using your gifts to serve others in our church and surrounding community.

I see people hugging, praying, and chatting about how good it made them feel and to know you cared about them.  I hear how you went to visit, called or sent them a card.  That is service.

I see those that prepare communion, set the tables for communion and serve communion.  I see those elders that take communion to shut in members.  That is service.

I see the strangers who come into our buildings and are embraced by our members.  You sit and chat with them and make them feel comfortable.  You introduce them to other people here at the church.  You invite them to sit with you or join your group for lunch.  That is service.

I see the Men’s group who meet every Wednesday afternoon to pray over those that have concerns or illnesses.  I hear about the cards they send out and how what a difference it made for the recipients life.  That is service.

I see the Funeral Ministry Women come together each time we have a memorial or funeral here at the church.  They bake cookies and make punch to serve to those who are grieving and make them feel loved.  That is service.

I see our buildings being used almost every day of any given week.  Unlike other churches, who are closed 6 days of the week.  I see members giving of their time to greet, perform as event staff, make slide shows, or operate the sound and light desk.  That is service.

Where do I see the living water of Cypress Creek Christian Church?  It is in the faces of each and every one of YOU.  Just as I hear the scripture each week that Pastor Bruce has been using for his sermon series, this is where I see you; They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither.  – Psalm 1:3.

Holy and Loving God, you have taught us how to use our gifts to help others.  Continue to help us grow and see where we can able to serve your people in ways beyond our imagination.  We all have times where we need someone to listen or walk to along side us as we try to deal with issues in our lives, wether it be health, family, financial, spiritual etc.  Guide us and direct us to those we need to see.  Amen.
