Scripture: Joshua 22:5
Take good care to observe the commandment and instruction that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to keep his commandments, and to hold fast to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Thought for the Day: Maya Angelou’s words strike me as essential components in our search for a God-purpose. She wrote, “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” It is about making a difference with the life we have been given, yet the work we do should bring joy to our hearts while making a profound difference in the life of another. Recently someone asked the question, “Looking back, will you be able to say that your life made the world a better place to live?” Those words challenge me more and more with each passing day, for you cannot wait until the last minute to make the world a better place. This isn’t a test for which we can cram. It needs to start now; it needs to become our identity and purpose as human beings.
Prayer: Continue to provide me with a purpose, O Kind and Generous God, for I desire to participate in the building of your loving reign. Amen.
