Scripture: Philippians 1:3-5
I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now.
Thought for the Day: Paul offered a shout-out to the Christians in Philippi, and today, I want to offer my own version of the Pauline shout-out. Yesterday was another amazing day of ministry at Cypress Creek Christian Church. Worship – specifically the music – was amazing. I enjoyed numerous conversations, from the hallways to the hospital, in which I heard people giving witness to God’s grace at work in their lives. I spent an hour with the youth who will head to Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday for the General Assembly of our denomination, and at the same time, we welcomed home the Chi Rho youth from their mission work in Oklahoma City. And then the evening was topped off with the Dare to Dream Dinner where we asked the question, Now what? There was good food, but there was really good food-for-thought in the inspiring testimonies. It was a good day, and for a pastor, it was a humbling day… for I have the opportunity to work in the midst of all this amazing stuff each and every day. Thank you!
Prayer: I am thankful, O Lord, for the amazing people who call Cypress Creek Christian Church their faith home. I am thankful for their willingness to move faith from the abstract to the concrete. This happens only because of you and your gracious work, O Lord. Amen.
