Ecclesiological Etchings

Scripture: 2nd Thessalonians 3:16
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with all of you.

Thought for the Day: Black Elk, the great voice from the Native American culture, said, “The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.”  I appreciate his words as they remind us of God’s (the Great Spirit’s) desire to see peace within each person.  This peace not only brings wholeness to the individual, but it also begins to create a sphere of influence in which peace is made real for others.  We cannot expect global peace to become a reality unless the gift of divine peace first dwells in the lives of those who desire to see peace.

Prayer: O Spirit of Grace, provide a new infusion of your peacefulness which allows us to be at peace and to share peace. Amen.
