Scripture: Psalm 8:9
O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
Thought for the Day: In continuing from yesterday’s devotional, I find myself drawn to these words at the close of Psalm 8. Last night I ran to the store to get a couple of items for my spouse. On my way back, I looked up at the sky and saw what you see in this picture.

Actually, the picture doesn’t do it justice…not even close. Even with the power lines and other human obstacles, the beauty and majesty could not be hidden. Quite often in life, we do a pretty good job of covering or concealing hints of God’s presence. This is too bad, for it not only restricts otherwise jaw dropping moments of awe for ourselves, but also for others. Keep your eyes open – not just to the sky – but to the faces of other human beings, to simple acts of kindness in our world, to the glorious moments of rebirth all around us.
Prayer: Creative God, where there are obstacles in my line of sight that keep me from seeing you, allow your glory to shine around the edges so that I will be inspired… and in that inspiration, I will do whatever is needed to push the obstacle out of the way. Amen.
