Ecclesiological Etchings

Scripture: Galatians 5:1
For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Thought for the Day: Rev. Harry Emerson Fosdick once said, “Bitterness imprisons life; love releases it.” We have too often allowed bitterness, resentment and a hunger for reprisal to imprison us. We become trapped in an existence that might appear to be life, but is as far away from real living as one can be. The love displayed in the life of Jesus provides us an exit from the shackles of spitefulness. Though many have tried, revenge is not a way of life.  Instead, it is the sad reality of one who is already dead. Thank goodness we believe in a new day and a new dawn.

Prayer: May the grave cloth of bitterness be lifted off my soul so I can walk among the living. This I request, O my Lord.  Amen.
