Scripture: 1st Peter 3:10-11
For those who want to love life and see good days should keep their tongue from evil speaking and their lips from speaking lies. They should shun evil and do good; seek peace and chase after it.
Thought for the Day: This is a day in which we remember those who have died, specially those who died in times of war. Too often people believe that soldiers desire war, but I truly believe that humanity’s greatest wish is to know peace. It is the soldier who has the most to lose. Sometimes the journey to that destination of peace is complicated and there are different opinions on what path to take. With that in mind, I am reminded of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who said, “Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek but a means by which we arrive at that goal.” Let us continue to find ways to live peacefully in our day-to-day existence so that we might embody our heart’s greatest desire.
Prayer: Give me a spirit of peace, O Lord, so I might be capable of living peacefully this day…and tomorrow… Amen.
