Scripture: Galatians 6:10
So then, let’s work for the good of all whenever we have an opportunity, and especially for those in the household of faith.
Thought for the Day: I won’t impose my assumptions on anyone, but I don’t think I can honestly say that I have always worked for the good of all whenever I have had the opportunity. How often have I allowed an old wound to taint my thinking of a person? How often has a judgmental thought gone unconfessed and led me to devalue another human life? How often have I simply been in a bad mood and ignored the opportunity to work for someone else’s good? Maybe you can say that you’ve never done these things, but I can’t. There are even a few occasions when I have not worked for the good of those who are closest to me. We are all a work in progress, but the Good News that Paul continues to share is that God is always working for the good of all, even when some of us are not reciprocating this same love and kindness.
Prayer: Continue to bring before me Jesus as my mentor and model, O Gracious One of Heaven. Continue to challenge me to expand my ALL and stretch my willingness to expend the energy to work for the good of others. Amen.
