Scripture: Acts 28:31
Unhindered and with complete confidence, continue to preach God’s kingdom and to teach about the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thought for the Day: The Book of Acts ends with Paul under house arrest, yet he continued to welcome many people and preach boldly. Though the Bible has no mention of Paul’s death, Christian history and storytelling places it between 63 – 68AD. What allowed Paul, especially in these difficult years under arrest, to feel unhindered and to preach about the Kingdom with complete confidence? We can only make a guess, but it sure appeared that Paul’s preaching was rooted deep within him. It was not a show or a job, but a way of life. Even if no one would have been allowed into where he was imprisoned, I’m pretty certain his thoughts, prayers and interactions with the guards would have demonstrated Jesus. How do I move from that place of claiming the Christian faith and wearing the t-shirt, to actually making it my life-story – making sure it is deeply rooted within me?
Prayer: O Lord, this is my request – I desire to see the convictions of Paul become the convictions of my life. Make Jesus my way of life. I ask – and now I open myself for your Spirit to assist me in this task. Amen.
