Scripture: Proverb 29:17-18
Instruct your children; they will give you peace of mind and bring delight into your life. When there’s no vision, the people get out of control, but whoever obeys instruction is happy.
Thought for the Day: Today I am thankful for children. As I sat in the Church Board Meeting last night, the youth were running in the hallways and making all kinds of noise. It was AWESOME! No one was complaining…
The author and speaker on leadership, John Maxwell, wrote: “Children astound me with their inquisitive minds. The world is wide and mysterious to them, and as they piece together the puzzle of life, they ask, Why?” May those of us who no longer fall under the categories of children or youth spend a little time looking to the younger generations – to learn from their inquisitiveness. It’s not only exciting to see, but it can be contagious. I am thankful for children, especially when they encourage me to explore the mysteries, ask good questions, try to put together the puzzles, and most importantly, enjoy the process of discovery.
Prayer: This day, I give you thanks, Mighty God, for the gift of children. May their lives continue to bring life to us all. Amen.
