For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
Thought for the Day: I love the General Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for many reasons, but mostly because of the great diversity of people who I can call my family of faith. There is a sheer plethora of opinions, colors, ethnicities, political ideologies, contextual situations, ages, histories, etc. To be perfectly honest, I do not always understand some of the folks I meet at the Assembly, but it remains a beautiful thing to see the rich tapestry God calls into service. Like any family, there will be a little bickering along the way, but eventually we will find ourselves at the communion table where Jesus will remind us of how we are made whole by grace alone. I love the General Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)!
Prayer: Prepare me, Lord, to meet and enjoy the complete lack of uniformity I encounter throughout life. Amen.
