Scripture: Proverbs 14:12
There is a path that may seem straight to someone, but in the end it is a path to death.
Thought for the Day: Staying with Proverbs 14 for one more day – Even the best of us have moved forward confidently only to discover that the path we chose was not the best path. I think of that when it comes to both the Spiritual Disciplines and living our faith lives in community. Not that every poor decision will be eliminated, but those who already have a long history of regular meditation, prayer and study are much more likely to discern beyond what the eye might see. And then add the community aspect, and suddenly we are able to draw from the wisdom of both those within our local church and the church of history. Choosing a bad path does not mean a person is bad. It does not necessarily mean they are a “fool” (using the language of the Proverbs), but too often we do not use all the resources God has provided us.
Prayer: For all the rich wisdom and amazing tools you have provided, O Lord, I am thankful. May each step of life be made using all that you provide. Amen.
