Like gruff shepherds and curious magi, God beckons us to a place – a place where the unimaginable is suddenly made visible; a place where love shatters every limitation imposed upon it; a place where unacceptable folks by most standards find welcome and learn of their inherent value. God beckons us to worship each Sunday with an expectation of us embodying God’s kin(g)dom gathering. The hope is for us to experience and learn, and then to help create space in other places and times where God feels comfortable beckoning others to find holy hospitality and limitless love. It is an honor, responsibility and immense challenge. Let us be bold in what we do in worship on Sunday mornings, and even bolder in what we do outside of our common worship.
Good and Gracious God, inspire us and empower us to be visionary people when we gather for weekly worship and when we live out what we learned in worship. Amen.
