Prayer for the Week:
Helplessness brings exhaustion
Hopelessness yields a weariness of the soul
Another bomb drops
What can we do?
Another family flees out of fear
How can we help?
Another child suffers in mind and body
When will it all stop?
We cry out to you, Holy God!
Are you listening?
Are you aware of what is happening?
Is there any chance for peace?
Can this moment be redeemed?
The questions are many
The despair is mounting
Provide us comfort, Source of Light
Not in an attempt to escape reality
Provide us comfort
So we can think creatively
And act compassionately
And maybe, just maybe
Make a difference
In this time of great suffering
Amen.
