Prayer for the Week: Holy God, your word took on flesh — your explanation and hope for creation was embodied in a life. Today, there is a lot of confusion and questions in regard to Christianity as a religion; in regard to Jesus as one who revealed your love and mercy; in regard to faith as a way of living. There might be some who can be convinced with a good argument, a well crafted clarification, but most people learn through what they see and what they experience. An empty witness, a hypocritical church will not change this world for the better, will not bring it into alignment with your dream. O Lord, call us! Inspire us! Embolden us… for the joyous and challenging work of discipleship, of following in the ways of Jesus. It is in his name that we pray. Amen.
