A Prayer To Begin Holy Week:
A doorway
A threshold
An entry point
“Follow me,” says a voice.
But the shadows are daunting.
“Do not be afraid,” we hear.
But fear can paralyze.
Holy God, we stand just inside the doorway of Holy Week. There is a part of us that would rather take another road – one that skirts the betrayal and turns away from the cross. Yet your gentle presence continues to beckon us, and so we trust you and take another step and another… We pray in the name of the one whose loving witness we seek this week. Amen.
