One of my favorite quotes of Easter time is from the 16th Century Reformer, Martin Luther. He wrote, “Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime.” Maybe there is no connection, but I sort of wonder if that’s the reason I feel renewed when I take a walk in the park or the woods, especially as nature is awakening from a time hidden in the darkness and cold of the earth.
Teach me, O Generous One, to find the promises of hope and life in the abundance of creation itself. Amen.
