Tomorrow is Youth Sunday at Cypress Creek Christian Church. I find Youth Sunday to be meaningful on multiple levels. First, I can remember back to my days as a youth. Youth Sunday was one of the places where I received encouragement that begin to form itself into a calling. Second, I have witnessed some very profound and powerful services because youth chose to be genuine and honest. Third, I have felt the energy and pride of youth after the Youth Sunday experience was over. Not only do they feel good about what they accomplished, but they have a deeper connection to worship itself.
Many of our youth will stand before us tomorrow as a solo artist, speaking or sharing as an individual. The butterflies will be many. But behind the scenes, the preparation has not been solo. Mariah, along with others, have worked diligently with the youth. I hope you will bring your encouragement to the services on Sunday, but also an appreciation for all the team preparation in advance.
Prayer: The children belong to us, O Lord, and we take our responsibility seriously. Guide us as we encourage them in their walk of faith. Amen.
