Prayer for the Week:
Exhausted!
An ever-flowing stream of injustice
lies
hate masquerading as religion
the suffering of the vulnerable
I am exhausted!
There are things to be done
carpools
a dishwasher to be unloaded
clothes sitting in the dryer for a third day
a brown lawn still in need of mowing
We are exhausted!
People are hungry in body and spirit
homelessness on every street corner
COVID is unrelenting
teacher are in short supply
The very creation is exhausted!
Disasters all around
floods in Kentucky
monsoons in Vegas
fires not yet contained
Hear our confession, O God –
Tired and torn
Fatigued and frayed
yet hints of hope and conviction remain
Let us arise this day
still exhausted
still running on low
yet believing in a moment
when hope will be enfleshed
when conviction will be evident
Amen!
