ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS
August 27, 2020
Prayer: Lord God, we might have invited your presence into our lives, but you were there long before those words were spoken. Your love did not require an invitation or any special act by us. And so this day, as the storm continues to rage, we not only claim your presence, but bear witness to it for the sake of those who are afraid and devastated. As the rains and wind continue, and our hearts grow weary by the images on tv, we stretch out a hand in the belief that you will steady us. Allow for the faith we claim to be the faith we continue to live. We are your body here on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and where Good News is needed, give us feet to deliver it; give us voices to share it; give us hands to build it. We ask these things in the name of the one who reminded the world of your everlasting and unconditional love. Amen.
