ECCLESIOLOGICAL ETCHINGS
September 11, 2025
Since I have full control over my Etchings, I can choose whatever comes to mind. While some may not agree, I am going to talk about my wife, who is having a birthday. I don’t want to get too weird, but like a lot of people, age provides greater and greater appreciation of the gift you have been given in another human being. I know that I am an odd critter in this world, with more quirks than any ordinary person should have. However, I have found someone who generally likes my oddness in most cases. She tolerates my sarcasm, even when I know it is irritating. Or maybe she has become more adept at ignoring it altogether. If that’s the case, I celebrate her ability to achieve such a mastery of essential disregard. All joking aside (Donna’s not laughing, just rolling her eyes), I appreciate the words of Dr. Seuss, who wrote, “You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” I have never slept well, so I am beginning to think this might be the reason. Happy birthday, Donna! Love you!!
