Prayer for the Week: Today, I sing a song of thanksgiving unto you, O God who is Generous and Kind. I sing amid pressures and powers that do not honor you. I sing while other disharmonious voices shout hateful and divisive words. I sing because I must, for despite all that seek to quiet me, it is your grace that both invites me and inspires me to sing.
As I gather with friends and encounter new faces along my journey, I pray for your perspective, Loving God. I desire for my actions and interactions to resemble those seen in the life of Jesus. May my refrain of gratitude invite others to join me, so that together, we can offer praise that honors you. Though diverse in background and viewpoint, I want more than anything to see a cooperative love emerge from our common humanity. Continue to encourage me and all who believe that you call us to a table of welcome where healing begins and reconciliation is made real.
As I continue into this day, I seek your assistance as I sing a song of thanksgiving unto you. While there will be much to distract me and derail my faithful walk, I am thankful for your grace that invites me and inspires me to sing. Provide me reminders of this grace as often as I might need it. Amen.
