Scripture: Deuteronomy 11:1
You shall love the Lord your God, therefore, and keep his charge, his decrees, his ordinances, and his commandments always.
Thought for the Day: I love God, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to always keep the divine charges, decrees, ordinances and commandments. The word ‘always’ makes me nervous as I don’t know if I am capable of even hitting 85%…maybe 70% on a good day. I love my wife, but I know I’m not always a perfect husband. In fact, I’m far from it. Yet any loving relationship gives room for ‘always’ to be a work in progress. In the end, I can guarantee that I will always be working to learn how my love of God can better live out the divine charges, decrees, ordinances and commandments.
Prayer: Bless and encourage me, Lord God, as I strive toward the always you deserve. Amen.
