What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs.
Thought for the Day: When I was cleaning up after the Chili Cook-off, I got a message from one of our youth, Kaitlyn. She had sent me a Youtube video and said, “You should show this at youth tonight!” So, I opened it up and watched the video and was floored. The video was two artists rapping about how we treat all people with love to destroy racism. I loved the video and showed it at youth that evening, but that wasn’t the great part. The great part was Kaitlyn walking into youth group that evening excited to share the video with the rest of the group. It was Kaitlyn and Brittany doodling on our main white board lyrics from the video about needing to love more, stick together, and end the fighting. Kaitlyn found a part of God’s love she could “proclaim from the roofs.” When a couple youth walked in late, she wanted to show the video again because they needed to see it! She wanted all of us to experience this message of God’s love that she heard through these rappers. It was just a simple Youtube video, a simple act of love and sharing, but it was a beautiful step towards one of our own living a love first life.
Prayer: God, please open my ears, eyes, and heart to the world around me to find your love anywhere. Give me the voice and exuberance to shout your love from the rooftops. Amen.
