Scripture: James 4:1
What is the source of conflict among you? What is the source of your disputes? Don’t they come from your cravings that are at war in your own lives?
Thought for the Day: This is so insightful! I won’t begin by pointing at others, but speak confessionally. I have, unknowingly at the time, caused conflict with someone only because I was not dealing with my internal issue. I’m pretty sure I have been testy with my wife, not because of anything she had done, but because I was struggling with something I didn’t want to name. Christians are not immune to this, and though I have no study to back my hypothesis, I believe that Christians do it a bit more often. As people of faith, we think we are to have our lives put together. We are to live the problem-free existence, yet we are dealing with the same issues that every human is facing. But our denial has us pushing down that thing that will always find a way of appearing…though when it appears, it does so in ways that are not healthy, honest or helpful.
Prayer: Provide me counsel, O Gracious God, and when necessary guide me to a good counselor. Amen.
