Happy New Year

Scripture: Philippians 2:16-18
It is by your holding fast to the word of life that I can boast on the day of Christ that I did not run in vain or labor in vain. But even if I am being poured out as a libation over the sacrifice and the offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you—and in the same way you also must be glad and rejoice with me.
Thought for the Day: In this time of college playoffs, is it ok to chant: We’re #1! We’re #1! I’m not referencing a football team, but Cypress Creek Christian Church. Now please understand, I know the importance of humility. Arrogance is a very dangerous sentiment as it leads to all kinds of unhealthiness and harm. With that said, I believe it is ok -now and then- to celebrate and rejoice in an achievement. So…I am excited to announce that Cypress Creek Christian Church provided the most number of Christmas Bags for NAM (Northwest Assistance Ministry). Of all the churches in the area that participate in the program, our congregation delivered back to NAM a record number 183 bags full of toys for children – that’s probably close to $10,000 worth of gifts. WOW! I joked with Dale Adcock (who oversees the project for our church) and asked, “Can we say, We’re #1!”? No worries – I am not going to lead us in a chant on Sunday, but I do wish to express my appreciation for your generosity as a community of faith. Cypress Creek continues to amaze me in its ability to touch and transform lives with no expectation of recognition. Well today, we are going to do a little internal recognition. Way to go!!
Prayer: For your generosity, God, we are thankful! Today, we honor you and your gifts by seeking ways to gift others. Amen.
Don’t Miss It
