Scripture: 1st Corinthians 13:12
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known.
Thought for the Day: My friend (and author of numerous books), Jim Mulholland, said the following, [I am] “amazed at how often my perception of others is simply a projection of whatever pain I’m experiencing. It is impossible for me to really see another person when I’ve made them into a mirror.” How well do we really know ourselves, and when we are not honest about who we are, do our insecurities and fears and pain become a prism through which we see all others? Through prayer, worship and groups study, we come to better understand ourselves. Let us be intentional, not only for the sake of ourselves, but for the purpose of creating healthier relationships with those around us.
Prayer: Holy God, lead me on the journey of self-discovery. I want to better know myself, and in doing so, better know those around me. Amen.
