Ecclesiological Etchings

Blog Heading

Scripture: Psalm 119:27
Make me understand the way of your precepts, and I will meditate on your wondrous works.

Thought for the Day: It may surprise you, but I am going to use a thought today from Buddha.  It is said that someone asked him, “What have you gained from meditation?”  He replied, “Nothing!  However, let me tell you what I have lost: anger, anxiety, depression, insecurity, fear of old age and death.”  I really believe Christians need to hear those words, for too often we expect to gain, through meditation, something from our long list of desires.  Maybe we should expect fewer gains and more losses.

Prayer: Gracious God, speak to me through my prayerful contemplation so that I  might know what I truly need and what is really of no help whatsoever.  Amen.

Come together this Wednesday…

Faith Stories copy

During our study we will:
     – Talk about the role and importance of “story” in our Christian walk;
     – Take part in some exercises that will assist us in identifying and putting words
        to significant faith events in our lives;
     – Learn a few tips on how we can confidently share our faith stories with those
        around us.
    Take comfort: you will not be expected to stand
in front of a bunch of people and speak!
