Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
Thought for the Day: As we sit in darkness, how we wish light could come as swiftly as it does in this opening account of creation. A few words, and BOOM! LIGHT! We have created cars where the dome light comes on when you remotely unlock it. We create sensors that turn on a light when we walk into a room. We even have the Clapper. Our technology continues to find ways of bringing light into darkness, but our spiritual abilities for immediate light remains slow and cumbersome. I believe God’s technology is good, but there remains many things that block our ability to see the Divine Light. This is where our growing faith and hope help us to claim the light even when we see only the shadows of despair.
Prayer: O Creator God, as you continue to illuminate our darkest places, shine a spotlight on the obstructions whose shadows are cast over us. Amen.
