Scripture: Luke 6:35-36
But love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
Thought for the Day: As children of the Most High God, the expectation is to follow in the way of the heavenly parent. As a parent, I do not feel the need to see my child grow-up to be a minister, but I hope he takes on the best qualities of my wife…and the few I have. As Christians, it is not possible to fully mimic the wonderful qualities of our God. But even though we will never fully reflect them, it does not mean we should stop trying.
Prayer: As you have been kind to every person, O God, may I work to deepen and widen the range of my kindness. I ask this so I may be more like you. Amen.
