Scripture: 1st Peter 1:22
Now that you have purified your souls by your obedience to the truth so that you have genuine mutual love, love one another deeply from the heart.
Thought for the Day: Henri Nouwen remains one of my favorite authors. On the topic of love for one another, he says, “Your body needs to be held and to hold, to be touched and to touch. None of these needs is to be despised, denied, or repressed. But you have to keep searching for your body’s deeper need, the need for genuine love. Every time you are able to go beyond the body’s superficial desires for love, you are bringing your body home and moving toward integration and unity.” May this day provide opportunities for genuine love.
Prayer: Creator and Giver of love, you have provided a plethora of opportunities by which I can know and share in love. Encourage me so that I do not let these opportunities slip by. Amen.
