Scripture: Psalm 54:1-3
Hear this, all you peoples; give ear, all inhabitants of the world, both low and high, rich and poor together. My mouth shall speak wisdom; the meditation of my heart shall be understanding.
Thought for the Day: In light of the recent announcement of the Pope’s retirement, I am borrowing one of his thoughts associated with this season. Pope Benedict XVI wrote, “Lent is like a long retreat during which we can turn back into ourselves and listen to the voice of God…” These 40 days moving us toward Easter should be deliberate and purposeful so the revelatory work of God does not go unnoticed. God desires to be known and understood, yet there is some responsibility put on us. When we make the effort, God meets us more than halfway.
Prayer: Draw me into your grace, O Lord, that I might find the renewing gift offered in this amazing season of reflection. Amen.
