Scripture: Psalm 65:2
O you who answer prayer! To you all flesh shall come.
Thought for the Day: In a little devotional book by C. William Nichols (given to me by a wonderful man, Reeder Miller), I was intrigued by what Rev. Nichols described as the ‘theological shock waves’ created through this passage of scripture. According to him, “All Flesh means every last person on this earth: the good and the bad, the orthodox and the renegade, the conservative and the liberal. All flesh includes not just all Christians, or all monotheists, or all believers, or all decent human beings, but all flesh.” Such words produce theological shock waves under the foundation of most everyone, except for God. On this topic, I don’t believe God is surprised. Not at all!
Prayer: Thank you, O Lord, for including me among all flesh. Amen.
