Scripture: Galatians 2:19-20
For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Thought for the Day: The Trappist Monk and Mystic from Kentucky, Thomas Merton, wrote:
Do not be too quick to condemn the man who no longer believes in God: for it is perhaps your own coldness and avarice and mediocrity and materialism and selfishness that have chilled his faith.
Ok, is anyone else feeling humbled, challenged, convicted and pushed to confession? Maybe it is just me, but I believe Merton has invited all of us to look inward and ask, “Am I a good representation of Jesus Christ or not?”
Prayer: May the gift of Christ live in me, O Lord. May your Emmanuel shine through my words and actions, helping to introduce others to your unmerited kindness and your unconditional love. Amen.
